When you share your screen, the call sees everything on it: the client list in a sidebar, a payroll table left open, a message window you forgot. ScreenBlur puts a blur over the zones you choose. You set it once, before the call, and you present without checking every corner of the screen.
Download ScreenBlur on GitHub
Free and open source. macOS menu bar app, version 1.0.1.
How do you blur a zone?
- Click the ScreenBlur icon in the menu bar, then Create / edit zones (⌘N).
- Drag a rectangle over what should stay private. Add as many zones as the screen needs.
- Share your screen as usual. Hide blur (⌘B) removes it for a moment and brings it back.
What else can it do?
- Blur an entire app. Pick an app from the menu: its windows stay blurred, wherever they open.
- Style and intensity. Frosted glass by default, with the strength set from the menu.
- Preview what others see. Check the shared view before you start presenting.
- Open at login. The zones are ready before the first call of the day.
Is ScreenBlur free?
Yes. ScreenBlur is free and open source, and the code is on GitHub. It runs on macOS, from the menu bar.
